SEO Best Practices

Rename photos to what's relevant for the image

Think about what keywords words someone might use when searching for that image. Keep it short, ideally anywhere from 1-5 words. Google uses these words to help understand what an image is about. Use relevant keywords and use hyphens instead of spaces to separate words. If there are lots of similar images, use synonyms and be specific.

For accessibility, add image descriptions.

For image descriptions, stay true to what the image is. Don’t pepper it with SEO keywords. This is also called Alt text.

For image descriptions, stay true to what the image is. Don’t pepper it with SEO keywords. If someone is visually impaired, how would a screen reader describe your image? This also doesn’t need to be long but should be more descriptive than the photo name.
